Welcome to The Stability Project

The Stability Project is a community initiative of Advanced Mental Health of Washington connecting individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability with accessible mental health care through partnerships with housing agencies, shelters, and community organizations throughout Tacoma and Pierce County.

Our Mission

The Stability Project (formerly known as The Tacoma Project) exists to help individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges navigate the barriers that often stand between them and the support they need.

Our purpose is simple: help individuals find the right resources, connect to the right services, and access support when they need it. We work to close gaps, reduce barriers, and make it easier for people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges to move from crisis toward stability.

Through our group practice, we provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral health services, mental health groups, and Foundational Community Supports (FCS) services. These services include Supportive Housing and Supportive Employment, providing individuals with practical and ongoing support as they work toward housing stability, employment, improved mental health, recovery, and greater independence.

We recognize that homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges are often interconnected with trauma, social barriers, and other complex needs. That’s why we take a person-centered approach—helping each individual identify the resources and services that best fit their circumstances while providing the behavioral health and FCS support they need to build lasting stability.

Everyone deserves a path toward stability.
We’re here to help people find it.

We are that door.
